Sometimes we "Feel Like a Stranger" with the "Big Bad Blues" and I am glad that Furthur keeps rollin' along.

Why don't we all just dress up like fools, get high, listen to THE BAND and pretend to be friends?

This show was amazing. With temperatures approaching the 90s the crowd and band were just bending together perfectly on this sacred hollow ground. I don't know how still people are complaining about JK. He is getting better and better and better. Yes he has moments where the solos don't come out just right, but guess what, Jerry had those moments as well. I also don't know who said they are not trying to sound like the GD, I mean two original members, playing all GD songs, I think they are going for the same sound. Why can't every one just enjoy the music. That is why everyone keeps coming back. With the crowd it was estimated that there were 20,000 people cramming into this little amphitheater. The sound and the band were tight and the mix was great. If you have not been out to see a Furthur show then you are missing out. You cannot realize how great these shows are if you are not there. Every show I went to I thought was amazing, and then when I listening to the recordings of them there is something missing. Now this is not a knock on the tapers, because this is a phenomenal job. But you cant get the energy and vibes that the live show and actually being there has. You haters should go see and show...... wait you know what, don't, you want to hate, stay home, don't listen and stop bashing and bothering people who do love whats going on.

Some great highlights from this show were Cassidy, which was a great tight powerful jam, Big Bad Blues where Phil bass was shaking the theater, and Playing in the Band, which was spacey and very artistic.

The second set was one gem after the next. he Golden Road (to ultimate devotion) was unexpected and one of my favorite moments of the second set. Iserting the eleven into the classic Help>Slipknot>Franklin's, I love how this band does that and pl;ays song combinations that havent been seen for a long time or never done before, and then the St. Stephen brought down the house. I am a huge fan of the 60's dead and Bobby was acting like a young kid in this show. Screaming and yelling during Stephen like it was days of yesteryear. Then his vocals on One More Saturday Night were incredible. Chementi on his keys can go from a Keith riff on grand piano to Brent like rhythms on the hammond.
To be there at the Woodstock venue, at this beautiful park and Ampitheter was like a dream come true.

I wasn't comparing anything to Grateful Dead when Jerry was alive....Jerry's 360's are for the musician ship only > Listen to Kantplayalik give up on solos hit wrong notes it is worse than Bobby with lyrics try The 11 awwwwwful yes everyone gets opinion but I am sick of reading glorious praise where it isn't due!!! It sure does pad the pocketbooks who do they think they are Elton John prices go up and the quality diminishes

Ha ha that someone still posts a complaint after several tours with this lineup. If you didn't enjoy this Bethel show then I don't think you'll like anything else this band will do, because this was one for the ages. Go see Phish and leave the grownups to go Furthur.

Subject: Just wondering......
Did anyone record jones beach? I video taped everything from samson to the middle of dark star
(fckn batteries died) and want to sycnh it up to some decent audio....with permission from the taper of course ;) Also if anyone video tpaed the show and want to put together a multi cam shot (and has from dark star to brokedown) i'd be happy to contribute. I used a mini tri-pod set on the ledge in a VIP box. No heads or w00ks in the way. :) My first attempt to video a show too.
I was like lanky. in ways i still am. To me JK holds back, could prolly be a lot better if he sang with his real voice. Then he could focus on opening up his solos a bit more. He does a good fill in but better then the additions in the past? HELL no!!!
Most of the furthur shows i've seen have been rough around the edges. But none of that mattered before and don't matter now.
With people comparing furthur to the dead (i was one of em) i have to say, furthur is trying to sound like the dead. If you don't hear it then you are in denial.
If they did not have that in mind then why drop warren, kimock, karan?? None of them guys sounded or played like garcia. JK does. It's what he made of his life. Some people wanna be like mike, JK wants to be like jerry and both phil and bob dig him and he;s starting to grow on me too.

Think about this, bob and phil are just weeks past the 46 year mark of their musical journey.
An adventure not many partake in.

I missed this one but the show at jones was really good. Hope to see it up here soon.

Furthur is getting better and better and they put on a great show..was at Long Island on Sunday and it was fantastic. They play the composed pieces so well. Weather Report Suite>Let It Grow was amazing...and I love when they play the whole Terrapin Suite.

They aren't the Grateful Dead but they are a really fun band to see and everyone should give them a chance. Well worth it.

Can't wait to listen to this one and the Jones Beach one when it comes up.

Just had to chime in... You don't get it man.. It's not a GD cover band. Grateful Dead isn't even in the name. It's just music dude.. Good music with a good vibe. It opens your mind and lets you see through the doors of perception... Jerry doing 360's? Fuck man Jerry was right up on stage dancing.... I though all heads got it... It's music, live, living music helping make the world a better place. Loved the screen, loved the set, loved the band, I even love you Lanksteer...

No disappointments here! So glad that I can get a listen again. The venue was beautiful and there was a great big orange moon over us..pure magic. I have camped on the Bethel site years ago before they made it into Bethel Woods and it has really been done in a way that has kept its integrity. As for the other commentary, this is about the music and where it takes you. Jerry wouldn't be doing anything but smiling down at all of the deadheads vibing to the music. Great show :)

Oh if I have to hear yet another whining little baby......IF you CAN'T stand it...WHY DO YOU KEEP SHOWING UP??? I cannot for the life of me understand why someone like you has to keep showing up in order to let us all know that Garcia is YOU who is looking at JK et al as "replacements. Not I. Im just digging the music. I suggest you go home, light one up, listen to your old cassettes, look at your old pictures, and yell at the mirror. We dont need miserable people here.

I personally love this line up.That's my opinion and everyone is entitled to there's. I like the growing process that's taken place. Listen to the first shows as compared to now.The Dead did the same thing over the years.JK is not the best but to me its still fun to listen to and that's all that matters to me.The old saying if don't like it change the channel!

Subject: Looks Like You're Alone Lanky
Anyone expecting a pure Grateful Dead/Jerry reincarnation is misguided and naive. We go for the "music that has never stopped". I've been to bunch of GD shows, and lots of Phil and Friends/O1's/Dead/Furthur as well and I have to say this latest grouping is melding VERY well if not one of the best I've seen post Jerry. Personally, I love the Trey/Kimmock duo, but what we have now is excellent. The Sunday MSG '10 show's second set truly opened my eyes at how good they were playing together. You're either on the bus or off it.
